So, someone asked me the other day if my nails were real. This seems toooootally trivial, but I have been biting my nails since before I can even remember (since at least early elementary school) and have been making push to break that habit, so I consider it a pretty big accomplishment. Ish.
In actual important news, I have no social life at all. I'm in my room all the time, and yet some how I still feel perpetually behind. I worry about school stuff in that slackery way where it's just like, "Dude, I'm super behind. Fml. I should probably manage my time better and work harder. ... Later." My DHON... isn't as far along as it needs to be (I feel like I'm stressing my director out XD) and I've barely looked into grad school stuff, and I haven't even started to study for the GRE. Blaaaaaaaaaah.
See, that was way less interesting than my nails.

GUESS WHAT I AM DOING. I AM UPDATING FROM MY LAPTOP. I turned it on around 6 (I couldn't wait the full 24 hours). It booted up just fine! I literally hugged it. So far, everything seems to work. Except my mute button. The volume buttons for up and down work, but not my mute button. It recognizes that it has been pushed (it lights up and the sound blips out for a half a second, and the icon even changes to muted for about the same length of time), but doesn't work. But if I spill crystal light on my lap top and lose one button, then that's no big deal.
I'm kinda scared to turn the computer off now though in case it's like PSYCH! totally dead after all, but that seems irrational. Kinda. Maybe?
I'm considering taking my laptop sooomewhere to see if they can open up the case and maybe check on it/clean any residue. Does that sound like a good idea, or should I assume that if it works don't worry about it? About hot much does that usually run?

So... I think I might have just murdered my lap top. The awesome lap top I just bought a year ago that has the neat finger print scanning device? Probably dead. I think I would be less surprised and less upset if I'd just killed Eddie (the azn). Okay, that's an overstatement, but only just kind of. I really am kind of in shock and reeeeeeally upset.
I was holding a cup of crystal light (not water, but at least it's sugar free?) type stuff and stumbled and sloshed it on the left side of the lap top. The lap top immediately cut off, which at first I really hoped was some sort of... laptop self defense mechanism ("Oh, I'm wet, I will power down for my own safety!") but now I'm worried that it was my lap top's dying breath as it like... shorted out. I only didn't cry because I wasn't sure whether to be sad or furious.
I'm mostly just v v v angry with myself. I've never water damaged electronics before! Never even BROKEN any elecrtonics before. I SILL HAVE MY PORTABLE CD PLAYER! Not a single wet cell phone in my life (of COURSE not, my cell phone is worth 1/25 my laptop's price but it survived!), but now MY LAP TOP. I HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO (if you say this is a good opportunity to develop one, I will srsly kill you. It's too soon)?!
Realistically, what are the odds of my lap top surviving? Also, if there is significant damage, is it worth it to get it repaired? I mean, I don't want to drop several hundred dollars on a laptop, but I will if I have to. Also, what are the odds that the hard drive, if nothing else, survived? I mean, it's probably been a year since I backed it up, so there are pictures and music and in-progress writing pieces and... ugh. Idek. It needs to be twenty four hours from now so I can see if it will turn on.
BASICALLY this post was supposed to just be "hey, killed my lap top so I might not be around for a while, sry" but I HAD TO VENT.
I HATE MYSELF WHY AM I SO CLUMSY/CARELESS?!

So, I went to AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) this weekend. It was pretty fun! Some highlights include meeting Vic Micnogna (the voice of Ed on Full Metal Alchemist), who is actually super nice, playing a Death Note themed murder mystery (which I am still bitter about, because I totally guessed the murderer, but my group did not come to the same consensus, so we got no prizes )= ), and, of course, seeing tons of costumes, ranging from the awesome to the ridiculous to the frightening. I also saw the Doctor, and he looked pretty convincing, all considering. He even had the screw driver. I got a picture, but my friend said I should have given him my number. Any situation in which someone can say, "You should have given the Doctor your number," and it totally makes sense is, by default, awesome.
Speaking of the Doctor, I just watched The End of Time and OMG. ( Spoilers, obviously. )
Also, I want to PB Donna but have absolutely no excuse to do so. Sadface.

I MOVE INTO THE DORMS TOMORROW! YAAAY! Well, yay for being back at the dorms, boo for actually having to move and boo for going back to school. ALSO, BOO FOR SPENDING $200 ON BOOKS FOR SCHOOL. IHUSCHOOL.
But, yeah INEVITABLY the internet won't work when I first get there because school internet is a motherfucker. So be aware.
I'ma go finish packing now. ♥

Seeing as school starts in like... two weeks-ish (idek, I need to check) it's time to start working on that stuff I was supposed to be doing all summer. Yay! THIS IS WHERE I NEED SUGGESTIONS. I need like... the main vampire stuffs in media, if that makes sense? Like, obvs I will watch Twilight (I must, sadly), Nosferatu, Buffy, Interview With a Vampire, etc but WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BE SURE TO SEE?

So, lately I've just been alternating between playing Dragon Age Origins and finally watching Dr Who. I'm so nerdy it's crazy (but you guys knew that). I've decided to fictionalize myself, because the pickin's are better when it comes to men. That way, I can either marry Alistair or the tenth doctor! =D I'll also take Dr Who!Caradoc, who I love even more now (despite the fact he got kicked off the Tardis for bad behavior) and wish he had been around longer. He could have learned his lesson! )=
Also, while playing DAO, I decided what "class" some of my characters would be. I am so nerdy I COMBINE my nerdery. Winnie would be a rogue, of course, of the bard variety, because you think, "Oh, what a nice girl! And she sings!" but she is also totally capable of backstabbery and sneakiness. Clare would probably be a warrior because she tends towards anger and violence. XD Probably a berserker or something. She would totes be a beater if she had the build for it, but instead she channels her focus and her angry teenagerness into seekering. Ironically, neither of them struck me as mages.

AAAHHH BONNAROO STARTS THIS THURSDAY! I AM SO EXCITED! I'm driving in on Wednesday to beat the traffic and I'm staying with Josh (who lives in Manchester, where it's held) so I don't have to camp (ew camping). It's like the modern day Woodstock of the south, in case you didn't know. Here is the lineup, so you can be appropriately jealous. If all goes according to plan (doubtful, but still) I plan to see Weezer, Stevie Wonder, Ingrid Michaelson, OK Go, ThereMight Be Giants, Regina Spektor, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Tenacious D, Conan O'Brien, Bo Burnham, Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, Dropkick Murpheys AND LOTS OF OTHER BANDS I CAN'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW. And did I mention I get to go for only $100, because I got the mad hookups (AKA Josh)? HELLZ YEAH.

I need your help, flist!!
So, recently (as in today) I broke up with IE. It pissed me off enough that I went and downloaded firefox, who I have been with all day. We're hitting it off quite nicely. We've flirted briefly in the past, but the time is right, and this time I think firefox might be the one.
But there's a problem (isn't there always?). As some of you may recall from my excitement when I bought it, my laptop has a finger reader that scans my finger print so I never have to put in usernames and passwords (except on facebook because it is designed stupidly, but that's another bitch session). The software (DigitalPersona), however, was apparently made only to work on IE and it doesn't know firefox exists. I did a quick google search, and apparently there are solutions to this, but idk anything about FF and I don't want to give IE the satisfaction of accidentally downloading a virus from a bogus website trying to find an add-on for this.
So, advice? =O

K so FIRST THINGS FIRST! I'm trying to make a Christmas CD for Josh. Josh hates Christmas, though, so it needs to be a CD of nontraditional epic. Basically, I need some suggestions of songs to go on it. Awesome covers of Christmas songs, funny Christmas songs, etc. I Want Your Soul for Christmas by the Schoolyard Heroes or Don't Shoot Me Santa by The Killers are both examples of the type of thing I'm looking for. SO, SUGGESTIONS, MY SUPER SMART FRIENDS?
In other news, my Haunted Victorians teacher sent me back my grades. I had an 88 prior to my final paper (DAMN YOU, PARTICIPATION GRADES, DAMN YOU TO HELL!) and a B+ on the final paper, which wasn't enough to bump it up to an A. He sent me back my paper with comments though and told me if I would revise it he would re-grade it and, if it brought my grade up, change it. Now I feel a little bad for making fun of him. ._. BUT YAY! The downside is I have to do HOMEWORK on my BREAK, but it's totally worth it.

New default icon represents my new state of mind! The semester is oooovvveerrr!
However, I made two B's and I'm a little bit pissed because they were in really dumb classes. ( The rest, in case any one cares )
Does that sound awful? Actually emailing my professor and being like "TELL ME ALL MY GRADES" with the obvious implication I feel I should have gotten a better grade? Then again, I did that once before and the teacher was like, "Oops, actually you WERE supposed to have an A. I'll fix it!" Can't hurt, I guess? Also, I think it ought to be manditory that they tell you what all your grades were! Seems fair to me.
Also, I found AWESOME wrapping paper. I got both tubes of it (one green, one red) for TWENTY CENTS. TOTAL. This present looks particularly awesome, I think, so I thought I'd ( share it with you )
My mom says I should use real Christmas paper, though. Like with snowmen and ormanents and whatever. I told her I'd compromise and use traditional name tag thingers from now on. Maybe. =3

YOU KNOW WHAT IS STUPID?
Tuesday I was having issues with my nets at school. School makes you download this client called Bradford Persistent Agent and I HATE IT. It always fucks up for me. anyway, Tuesday I was in remediation because I failed the valid agent test - which is only supposed to happen when you don't have Bradford but I diiiiid and I had to uninstall it and reinstall it then it said I didn't have the latest Windows updates even though I DID and in short school nets hate me.
So, that evening I come home because it's Thanksgiving and dad is like, "Oh btw our internet is broken." Noooo!!! It worked that evening, but was kinda iffy. Cable guy came Wednesday and stayed FOREVAR but... the internet is still iffy. I have it for the moment, but it has gone out at random a couple of times. IT'S MY BREAK, WHAT DO I DO WITHOUT INTERNET.
Also, I have a cold and am slightly hormonal. And I have homework. Over thanksgiving break.
That's what's stupid.
